P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast Plagiarize?

Guys? Guys? Did they not teach you in school to put things in your own words?

It's one thing to shake my head helplessly at grade-school kids copying and pasting a huge chunk of Wikipedia into a Word file, knowing that they're going to get caught. Published authors should know better.

And as a question of good writing, if your character talks like an encyclopedia, and isn't Spencer Reid, you're probably doing it wrong.

There is certainly no way I should knit my very first sweater from a Japanese pattern, when they use an entirely different set of needle sizes, the sizing is "one-size-fits-small-people, the rest of you have to convert it yourselves," and I would just be randomly guessing at how much yardage I need.

But I really like the pattern.

An update

There was blueberry pie.

There was hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps, which is a great combination if you like your drinks sweet, which I do. (I was nearly tempted into ordering the "Lumberjack," which is hot apple cider and whiskey. Something to try next time. Meaghan had hot rum with orange juice, lemon juice, and cinnamon, which I must note because it was excellent.)

I have e-mailed a draft to my editor.

Whoo!
